Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (NEO-CHLOR 60) also known as Chlorine Tablet is mainly used as a disinfectant, biocide, and industrial deodorant. It mostly found its application in water purification tablets/filters. As a disinfectant, it is used to sterilize drinking water, swimming pools, and to fight against infectious diseases as a routine disinfection agent. It is also used in wastewater treatment, sewage treatment. When dissolve in water, chlorine is available as hypochlorous acid ( HOCl) and hypochlorite ion ( ClO-). The solution of hypochlorous acid/hypochlorite has both excellent oxidizing and disinfecting properties. It is highly effective for eliminating organic contaminants.
