Further, it serves as a surfactant, emulsifier, wetting agent, suspending agent, dispersing agent and anti-corrosive agent in boiler water. Sodium Metasilicate forms highly alkaline solutions when dissolved in water. Due to this reasons, it is used as a component of cleaners such as dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent.
