Molybdenum disulfide is known for its strength and lubricity. MoS2 has a layer-lattice structure that bonds easily to metal substrates. This allows an applicator to apply the coating in different ways. Essentially, four methods can be used to apply MoS2 onto a substrate.
The substance to be REACH-registered is molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) that is chemically-produced during the activation or so called pre-sulfiding of refining & petrochemical catalysts, when molybdenum oxide (MoO3) is transformed by reaction with a sulphur compound (2R2S or RSSR or H2S) into its sulfidic form (MoS2).
