RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT ( RXSOL DAF ) is a high molecular weight, medium anionic charge, water-soluble polymer in emulsion form. It is effective as a flocculant in various liquid/solid separation applications, such as clarification, dissolved air flotation, and sludge dewatering of inorganic sludges. RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT is very effective as a coagulant aid in clarification applications including precipitation softening.
RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT meet to the requirements of ANSI/NSF Standard 60-Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals,Health Effects. RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT is also meet norm of NSF International as a coagulant and flocculant drinking water chemical to a maximum use level of 1.0 mg/l.
This product is use flocclant for dissolved air flotation, and sludge dewatering of inorganic sludges.
This RXSOL specified product is used to flocculate suspended oil particles in oilfield waters either by adding it directly to alkaline systems, or in the case of lower pH systems, by first neutralizing the product with alkali to produce a water soluble salt solution.
To prepare the water soluble salt solution, add the alkali (NaOH, KOH) slowly to a 2% dilution of the RXSOL DAF until the pH reaches alkaline 8.0 - 10.0. The product will change from a thin, milky-white liquid to a clear, viscous liquid. The neutralized 2% solution can then be further diluted as required. RXSOL DAF can also be formulated with ethylene glycol. RXSOL DAF functions by reducing the repulsive surface charges on oil droplets and certain organic and inorganic particulates found in produced oilfield waters. This helps promote the formation of a larger floc and improves settling or filtration rates. Due to the wide variability of oilfield waters, the optimum dosage rate should be determined through a series of jar tests for each specific application. RXSOL DAF is often used in conjunction with inorganic coagulants or cationic polyelectrolytes.
RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT should be fed via a closed feed system. A closed feed system is defined as a system in which fluid is moved from a closed storage vessel into a treated media without exposure to the atmosphere (except through normal venting or pressure devices).
Emulsion flocculants must be fed following proper makeup procedures. Suitable inversion systems should be utilized to allow for adequate inversion and feeding control. The quality of water used to invert the polymer is important. Avoid using plant recycle water or other water sources high in suspended solids, mineral salts and iron, and with a pH either below 6.5 or above 7.8.
A dilution aging tank is highly recommended, with a minimum of 30 minutes aging in order to gain full product activity. Inverting the emulsion flocculant below a concentration of 0.2%, or above a concentration of 1.0%, is not recommended. A positive displacement pump is recommended for feeding the inverted material to the treatment system. In some cases, continuous dilution of pre-inverted flocculant will enhance activity and generate more cost-effective results. Improved performance using dilution water is site specific. To determine if post-dilution is advantageous, feed inverted product through a standard mixing tee to an active dilution water line. The water temperature should be close to ambient and low on suspended solids, mineral salts and iron.
In most cases, inverted flocculant should be fed on the discharge side of the feed pump. There may be isolated cases where the additional mixing rendered by distributing the polymer on the suction side of the pump will yield better program
SAFETY AND HANDLING :
RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT should be handled with responsible care as handling normal chemicals products. When considering the use of RXSOL ANIONIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT in a particular application, the Material Safety Data Sheet must be reviewed to assure that the intended use can be accomplished safely. All precautions described in the MSDS should be strictly followed when handling this product.
STORAGE :
Keep containers closed and protect from frost and moisture. Low temperatures should be avoided since viscosity increases and pumping problems can occur. When frozen, warm the product slowly to ambient temperature and agitate with a low (
